Community life

Community life at St Thomas Crookes is based around the three gatherings of church:

 

Cell - the small gathering,
Cluster -the mid sized gathering, usually comprising three to six cell groups, and
Celebration -the large Sunday Gathering of several Clusters.

Network/Family Clusters

 DELTA - a cluster who want to know the continually transforming love of God that changes lives, both for ourselves and others. Just Life is for those aged 18-30 who are working out, basically, how to do life.     We are a vibrant group of mixed ages based in the area of Sheffield near the Northern General Hospital
 RAVE - stands for Relevant, Attractive, Visible, Everyday!  Point is a cluster of young adults starting out in life.  We have cells that meet in Crookes and Walkley. Extended Family is made up of people of all ages and at different stages of life.  
 RELATE - a cluster that reaches out to our neighbours and brings them into community through our relationships with each other and with God. We are a group of professionals with kids who have busy work and home lives.     Go Global is a cluster for international people and anyone who has an interest in things international.
 The Edge is a group of students who are passionate about extending the genuine friendship that we have in church to those who are outside.   Reproductive Life is a cluster for young adults with young families.  Grace Cluster is seeking to develop the work with senior citizens in Crookes.
 Transform is a cluster with a passion for social justice; we meet in community to transform each other’s lives; we then reach out to homeless people on the streets of Sheffield.  Transition is a group for those in their 20’s - recent graduates, postgraduates, or those starting out in work  A community that wants to get back to basics: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind...Love your neighbour as yourself.' (Matthew 22:37-39)
 Varsity is a group of students who are passionate to reach Hallam students for Christ.    We are a mixed-age cluster - currently 3 cell groups.  We love to meet together and hold regular social events to invite our friends to

Deaf Community

St Thomas Crookes includes a number of Deaf members. A small team of signers interpret at the 11am Sunday Gathering and a cluster is emerging for Deaf Christians who meet regularly to support and encourage one another. For more information please contact Peter Ford via the Church Office.
