Live Life Better: The Sermon on the Mount

This in-depth look at the greatest sermon ever preached is a 33-talk series from St Thomas Crookes morning gatherings. It investigates the context and application of each section of the Sermon on the Mount, including one full sermon on each of the Beatitudes, followed by mini-series on Freedom and Faith. You’ll find it informative, encouraging, challenging, and life-changing!

Heroes

This series of 21 sermons from the evening gathering at St Thomas Crookes in 2009-10 looks at some of the great heroes of our faith – Abraham, Daniel, Ruth, Peter, Joseph, David, Timothy, Paul and of course Jesus himself. As well as examining key elements of the character of these heroes, each talk also includes reference to a more modern hero and helps us understand how we can emulate these traits in our own lives – we are all heroes!

Meet God

Meet God… in John’s gospel! This series of 32 sermons explores the character of Jesus from the stories of his life portrayed in the Gospel of John. From his actions, interactions, miracles and parables, it draws out his key values and characteristics, and helps us to deepen our knowledge of this amazing man – our amazing God!

Disciples

Jesus didn’t tell us to build the church; he told us to make disciples! But what exactly is a disciple; how can we be better disciples, and how can we encourage others into a life of discipleship today? This is the theme of this series of 24 sermons preaches at St Thomas Crookes evening gathering in 2008-9.

Resurrection

This is a new series of 3 sermons by Mick Woodhead, team leader of St Thomas Crookes, examining the reality and power of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, what that means for our faith, and how it enables us to have confidence and hope both now and in the future.

Heaven

Jesus’ return is as central to our faith as His death and resurrection, yet we rarely explore what the reality of that might be. Over two sermons (preached in 2008) Mick Woodhead (team leader of St Thomas Crookes) looks at revelation and unpacks the reality of Jesus, glorified eternally.
