More of what's coming up

If you're retired or a senior citizen there are several things particularly for you at St Thomas Crookes:

Natter

A relaxed and friendly place to be, for people aged 55 or better! The drinks are hot and the company is good - see you there! Tuesdays, 10.30-11.30 in the Gilbert Room (entrance opposite Crookes Post Office). Taking a break in August but restarting in September 2010.

Grace Cluster

This is a cluster group with a mixed age group membership but a particular focus on serving older people.  Its members organise the following two regular events:

Short Afternoon Services

A more traditional style of service held at 3pm in the Church Lounge on the first Sunday of most months, followed by refreshments.

Festival Services and Teas

Special afternoon services to mark four festivals in the church year - Palm Sunday, Whitsun, Harvest and Advent Sunday.  Each of these services begins at 3pm and is followed by afternoon tea.

The Linden Club

This social club meets in the church lounge every Monday afternoon at 2pm - only stopped by winter snow!  It's open to all senior citizens who want to get together for a chat and to play games such as bingo, cards and dominoes, with tea or coffee and biscuits served.  There are also occasional outings and meals.  The membership fee is just 50 pence.

For more details, or to check dates for the above services, please contact the church office.  Lifts can normally be provided.

We also have good links with local sheltered housing, retirement and nursing homes. There is a monthly Sunday afternoon service at Moorend Place, whilst some of our members also visit Alexander Court regularly.
