Students
Church: It’s not just for Sundays!
We have students from Sheffield University and Sheffield Hallam University and we love them. They’re a vital and integral part of all that we do, and it’s our heart’s desire to help make sure your university years are some of the best in your life.
As far as we’re concerned, being part of a loving, caring church family is one of the best things you can do while at university. As a church we’re committed to helping you find your place in Sheffield. St Thomas Crookes has a fantastic family feel with children, youth, students, people who have always lived in Sheffield and those who are from the other side of the world.
The student community (churchforstudents.com) is a rapidly growing community within the church. At the moment we have nearly 150 students in our church. Students meet in Clusters, which are communities of students who share life together as they reach out to the world around them.
At the core of our church is the desire to see our city, our nation and world transformed. Our student community has a strong call to reach our campuses and our city. Student Clusters are involved in mission initiatives ranging from Alpha Courses to reaching out to the marginalised of Sheffield.
How do we do this?
We do this together and we do it in community. Currently we have six student Clusters and each one has a distinct vision. Each cluster meets to do mission and then meets weekly in Cell groups for Bible study, support and accountability. See our community pages for more details.
Our church gathers on Sundays at 9am, 11am and 7pm (during term time). Our gatherings are down-to-earth and the teaching is aimed at helping us live life as Jesus would want.
Our church is open to all: for those who have always been to church, for those who have never been to church and for those who are just curious...
