St Thomas Crookes is a church of churches – six particular communities which make up ‘Crookes’. Information on these six churches is accessible via our home page.
We are an Anglican/Baptist Church in the city of Sheffield (UK) with a vision to see our city, nation and the nations transformed as people simply meet friends, meet God, and live life better.
Over a number of years St Thomas Crookes has pioneered the organic and missional church structure of clusters (missional communities) and cells (small groups), supporting leaders through huddles, and the use of Lifeshapes as the common language and tools for discipleship throughout the church.
The church community has grown considerably over the last five years. This growth and multiplication is powered by the clusters – missional communities of 20-30 people each with a common missional vision, under lay leadership, who reach out to a wide variety of ages and people groups. Some of these clusters have ‘planted’ in other areas of the city of Sheffield, working in cooperation with local churches to see those on the edge brought into the community of the church.
St Thomas Crookes has a vision to encourage church leaders and disciples, through its various leadership networks and training resources. It is our hope to expand this training over the next few years and the planned redevelopment of the church campus in 2011 will help to make this a reality.
