Worship is a central part of what we do, as we look to 'meet friends, meet God, live life better'. Through entering into worship we can encounter God in a dynamic and life-changing way. Our worship seeks to be Jesus-centred and open to God and his Spirit. At St Thomas Crookes we believe in releasing musicians to express their gifts at all levels of our church community in cell, cluster and celebration.

  • At our Sunday Gatherings, our contemporary worship is led by a band and seeks to include all who gather, with different expressions at our early, family & evening gatherings.
  • At Cluster, worship is lightweight and allows all members to participate and contribute.
  • In Cell groups, members are encouraged to think of creative ways to engage in worship as a small community.

As we worship we seek to 'meet God'... we'd love for you to join us!

There are four people who lead worship on a Sunday at Crookes, here’s some info about them…

Becca Staniforth… Becca leads the worship team at Crookes. She plays the Piano and loves to sing (as many will testify she sing’s all the time!).

Nick Law… by day Nick is an estate agent but by night he is a worship leader and song writer! Nick plays Guitar, Bass, Drums & Piano as well as sing! He is a gifted song writer and we sing many of Nick’s songs here at Crookes. Watch this space for the chance to listen to some of Nick’s song and download chord sheets. Check out Nicks’ website ‘Homegrown songs’

Bryony Fryer… Bryony works at St Toms doing all things media! She plays piano and sings but loves playing percussion when she gets the chance!

Johnny Cassidy… Johnny moved to Sheffield from Northern Ireland as a student 6 years ago. As well as enjoying playing his guitar and leading, Johnny is currently training to be a Physio.

Engage training evening. A joint training evening for those involved in worship at St Thomas’ Crookes, St Thomas’ Philadelphia and The Kings Centre. An opportunity for people across all churches to come together for teaching, worship, training and discussion in the area of worship. The evening starts at 7:30pm at the Kings Centre (Union Road, Nether Edge).

If you want to find out more or get involved please contact Becca Staniforth at worship@stthomascrookes.org or phone the Church Office on 0114 2671090.
