St. Thomas Crookes has several worship leaders, who regularly lead at various gatherings. We are always keen to invest in others. If you feel called to be involved in worship leading, contact becca.staniforth@stthomascrookes.org.

Becca Staniforth
Becca has been born and bred in Sheffield, and joined the St Thomas staff team as the Worship Director in 2007. She is married to Adam and before working at church, worked as a Geography teacher in a local school.
Becca started leading worship when she was 16 at her local church, and since then has played at Spring Harvest and New Wine. Most recently in summer 2008, she lead worship at New Wine North.
As the Worship Director she oversees the worship life of the church, leading at Sunday gatherings, raising up other leaders and encouraging worship throughout the community. She plays the piano and loves to sing – as many will testify, she is rarely silent!
She has a passion to see people encounter God and be changed by Him in worship, so that worship becomes a lifestyle rather than just a song.

Nick Law
Nick has been playing and making music for almost as long as he can remember.
Before becoming a Christian at the age of 20, Nick was in numerous secular bands, writing songs and playing the guitar, piano and drums. Meeting Jesus changed the direction of his life, and he began leading worship at small cell and cluster events at St. Thomas Philadelphia, before progressing to lead at larger gatherings.
Having moved to St. Thomas Crookes in 2005 with his wife Claire, Nick joined the team of worship leaders and has since led at various events and churches, including New Wine North.
Nick's vision for worship is to 'lead people like Pied Piper' to Jesus, using creative expressions of music and songs that incorporate the Word. He is currently in the process of recording his first, full length album - Christus Victor! - due for release in Easter 2010.

Bryony Wells
Having been born in York, Bryony grew up in Hull and studied Media and Performance at Salford University before moving to St. Thomas Crookes to join the staff team and become one of the worship leaders.
After being thrown into worship leading mid-song at her home church at the tender age of 14, when the keyboard player didn’t turn up, Bryony since led worship at various churches, gatherings and events. She has gained most of her experience from several summers leading and playing at Spring Harvest in France.
Although Bryony learnt piano, violin and singing as she grew up, she will always be a percussionist at heart.
Bryony’s hope is that here at Crookes we might not just make great sounding noise, but be equipping people to understand a little of the mystery of worship itself, and encouraging others to live it out away from a Sunday gathering.

Johnny Cassidy
Johnny was born and raised in an small fishing village, nestled in the mountains of Mourne in Northern Ireland.
He started by playing mostly hymns on the flute in his local church band; an experience which gave him a respect and reverence for hymn music. Over the years, Johnny became a passionate supporter of modern worship music through amazing worship leaders such as Robin Mark, Matt Redman and the Summer Madness worship team.
After Teddy Saunders, a man from his home church, prophetically bought him a guitar to learn and lead worship on, Johnny began worship leading.
Coming to Sheffield to study Biochemistry and Genetics at Sheffield University, Johnny was welcomed into the St Thomas Crookes family. After finishing his degree, Johnny spent a gap year on FORM, where God shaped his character and introduced him to his now wife, Liz.
Johnny loves leading worship at St Toms, and sees it as a huge privilege to lead such an amazing church full of passionate worshippers. He is deeply commited about seeing the name of Jesus lifted higher in our gatherings and being involved in worship that pleases the heart of God in Heaven.
